Description
The role assists veterinarians with shelter animal care, including surgical assistance, restraint, anesthesia monitoring, post-operative care, laboratory specimen collection, diagnostic testing, medical recordkeeping, animal examinations, hygiene, facility cleaning, dietary preparation, and euthanasia. It requires an associate degree in a veterinary-related field or equivalent education and experience, two years of licensed veterinary technician experience, a valid Texas driver’s license, and a Texas Licensed Veterinary Technician certification; the Texas CVA I test must be completed within one year of hire. The work is performed in a clinic, animal shelter, or office environment and involves exposure to animals, chemicals, infectious materials, and physical demands.
