Long Beach City College is hiring a Vice President, Workforce and Economic Development to lead the district’s economic and workforce development mission, coordinate with internal staff and external partners, develop policy and programs, seek revenue and resource opportunities, engage with K-12 districts, colleges, universities, businesses, industry, and local government, and represent the district at state meetings. The role reports to the Superintendent-President, supervises assigned staff, manages related budgets, and supports governance, public information, community outreach, and special initiatives. Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree, one year of relevant training, internship, or leadership experience, and understanding of diverse community college student populations; a doctorate, five years of relevant leadership experience, grant-writing and contracts-administration experience, and other administrative and communication skills are desirable.
