Description
Roku is hiring a Video Platform Engineering Manager to lead engineers building a high-availability, cloud-hosted video platform for the Roku Cloud TV Platform. The role covers video ingestion, encoding, transcoding, packaging, publishing, live and on-demand streaming, advertising insertion, DRM, and video quality of service, while also contributing to backend architecture, performance and security, reliability, and cross-functional product decisions. The manager will attract and mentor engineers, drive innovation, and collaborate with product, UX, engineering, and external partner teams. The role requires extensive software development and distributed systems experience, cloud video processing expertise, streaming and DRM knowledge, and strong leadership and communication skills; it follows a Monday-through-Thursday office schedule with flexible Fridays.
