Description
The Municipality of Anchorage is hiring a Traffic Engineer to oversee the development and implementation of its Vision Zero program, including plans, analysis, reports, recommendations, outreach, partnerships, and funding. The role evaluates traffic safety issues, coordinates with municipal departments, law enforcement, and other agencies, reviews transportation and land-use plans for traffic safety consistency, and represents the Traffic Engineering Department at community council meetings. The position is based at 4700 Elmore Road, typically Monday through Friday from 08:00 to 17:00, with possible telecommuting after successful probation. Applicants must meet one of three education-and-experience pathways, hold a valid Alaska driver's license, and may receive additional professional certification pay with a valid State of Alaska Professional Engineer license.
