Description

The full-time Cage Wash Technician reports to the Vivarium Manager and works alongside animal care staff in a vivarium maintaining a small colony of mice. The role combines routine animal caretaking, cage washing, sterilization, environmental monitoring, waste disposal, recordkeeping, and support for medical treatments and research activities. The schedule is generally 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM Monday through Friday, with flexible weekend and holiday rotational work. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with at least six months to one year of animal husbandry or handling experience; ALAT certification from AALAS is preferred or must be obtained within one year of hire.
