Description
Coherent Corp. is seeking a Vice President or Senior Vice President of Research to lead its advanced research organization and report to the CTO. The role owns the long-term research strategy and roadmap, leads senior technical leaders and Principal Investigators, oversees research investment and technology portfolios, drives photonics and optical communications technologies from concept through proofs of feasibility and demonstrations, and transitions successful technologies into business groups. The position requires a PhD in a relevant technical field, 15+ years of photonics or optical communications experience, deep expertise in datacenter and communications systems and optical technologies, and a demonstrated record of leading advanced research or development organizations and translating research into product results.
