Description
Howard County Government is hiring a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to work on a rotating shift controlling plant operations, maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment, performing sampling and laboratory testing, recording data, and assisting with minor maintenance and grounds work. The role may direct lower-level employees and may serve as an assistant shift leader, but it has no formal supervisory responsibilities. Applicants need a high school diploma or GED plus three years of Class 5A wastewater treatment experience, or one year of related college coursework plus two years of Class 5A experience, along with a Maryland Class 5A Operator's certificate. The starting salary is $29.26–$32.30 per hour, or $60,866–$67,186 annually.
