King County is hiring a Wastewater Treatment Operator - Senior Operator in Charge Trainer for a three-year Special Duty Assignment at the South Treatment Plant in Renton, Washington. The role trains Wastewater Treatment Division staff, develops and updates training materials and standard operating procedures, coordinates vendor training, supports operator licensing and professional growth, and monitors training activities. It requires operator-level technical expertise, advanced troubleshooting, safety knowledge, and the ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and adverse weather. The position is represented by SEIU Local 925, requires Washington State Group III Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certification, and is scheduled for interviews in the week of October 19, 2026.
