Description

The University of Connecticut is hiring one full-time Water Pollution Control Operator 1 for its Storrs Campus Class IV Water Resource Recovery Facility. The permanent 40-hour-per-week first-shift schedule is either Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday, with 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. work hours and a paid half-hour lunch. The role operates, monitors, maintains, and repairs wastewater treatment and water reclamation equipment; performs chemical and biological analyses; records operational data; responds to SCADA alarms; and supports FOG inspections and facility maintenance. Applicants must hold a Class I Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator Certificate at hire and maintain it throughout employment, have a current motor vehicle license, and meet DEEP experience and education requirements. The position pays $69,885–$89,849 annually, with an hourly rate of $33.47 for new state employees, and offers medical and dental insurance and retirement benefits.
