The City of San Luis Obispo is hiring a Water Resource Recovery Facility Operator (SBP) for a six-month limited-term role supporting wastewater treatment operations and maintenance. The position operates and calibrates treatment equipment, adjusts chemical feeds and process controls, performs laboratory analyses, maintains records, troubleshoots equipment, and may operate heavy equipment. It requires a high school diploma or GED, mechanical aptitude, a valid California Class C driver's license, and the ability to work any assigned shift, including nights, holidays, and weekends. The role is part of a skills-based-pay advancement series and may include standby/callout, safety training, and public tours.
