Description
The Johnston County Public Utilities Department is actively hiring a Water Plant Operator for a midnight-to-noon shift, with availability for every other weekend and various holidays. The role operates water treatment and distribution equipment, controls chemical dosages and flow, monitors water quality and compliance, performs laboratory and equipment maintenance, and responds to hazardous chemical incidents. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, recent specialized training in water treatment and plant operations, a C-Surface Water Treatment certificate or ability to obtain one within 12 months, and a valid North Carolina driver's license. Pay depends on experience and increases with certification.
