Description
The Welding Inspector manages welding processes and customer and industry specifications, leads NADCAP and customer welding audits, reviews weld-operator qualification and testing procedures, assists with weld-operator training and approval, and serves as the welding subject-matter expert for the business unit. The role also supports quality and manufacturing engineers, reviews customer requirements through contract review, and coordinates welding equipment and process controls. Required qualifications include a two-year college or university education, at least five years of related experience or training, extensive AWS D17.1 and D17.2 experience, aerospace welding-process and customer-specification experience, experience with aerospace materials, and TIG, spot, and laser welding experience; AWS certification is preferred.
