Description
The Coil Winder operates and maintains winding machines to assemble medium-power, large-power, and extra-high-voltage transformer coils, including disc, screw, and regulatory-voltage coil types. The role involves setting up cylinders and mandrels, loading conductors, winding, inspecting, brazing, insulating, aligning, and repairing coils, while following technical drawings, bills of materials, safety procedures, and quality controls. It requires a high school diploma or equivalent, physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on feet for extended periods, and strong mechanical aptitude, spatial awareness, communication, and teamwork skills. Prior coil-winding, heavy-mechanical, manufacturing, or power-equipment experience is preferred.
