Description
The Skilled Wireman installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical wiring systems and related components on commercial, industrial, and residential projects. Responsibilities include routing conductors, terminating equipment, installing lighting and control devices, diagnosing electrical faults, maintaining NEC and OSHA compliance, interpreting blueprints, documenting work, and collaborating with supervisors, project managers, inspectors, and other trades. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, electrical apprenticeship or equivalent experience, a valid California electrician or journeyman wireman certification, and 3–5 years of wireman or electrician experience.
