Description

McKesson is hiring a WMS Software Engineer - IBM i / AS400 Specialist to design, develop, test, debug, and maintain Warehouse Management System software supporting its distribution centers. The role focuses on IBM i and AS/400 development using RPGLE, CLLE, and SQL, with responsibilities spanning requirements analysis, application integration, performance monitoring, CI/CD, Agile delivery, release management, and technical mentoring. Candidates need at least four years of professional software development experience, hands-on IBM i development experience, a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience, and strong SDLC, debugging, and problem-solving skills. The position may involve limited travel and hybrid or remote work arrangements.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Previous Experiences: 4+ years of professional software development experience, including exposure to enterprise-scale systems.
Hands-on software development experience on IBM i (AS/400) using RPGLE, CLLE, and SQL.
Experience developing, testing, troubleshooting, and supporting mission-critical enterprise applications.
Experience working in Agile delivery environments and applying disciplined software development practices.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience deploying IBM i solutions using Java, Node.js, Python, or PHP.
Experience designing, developing, or consuming REST APIs.
Experience with Kafka or other message-based and event-driven systems.
Experience with digital applications and technologies such as Python, Java, or MongoDB.
Knowledge of warehouse management and order-to-cash processes.
Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and monitoring automation.
Experience in distribution, logistics, supply chain, warehouse operations, or healthcare distribution environments.
