The CALS Writer develops and produces high-quality editorial content for Virginia Tech's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, covering teaching, research, Extension, student success, faculty expertise, agricultural research and extension centers, and advancement communications. The role reports to the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications, collaborates with faculty, students, alumni, donors, and subject-matter experts, and provides editing, proofreading, fact-checking, and editorial production support. It is a regular appointment in Blacksburg, Virginia, with a salary of $67,500 to $71,000, and requires a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent experience plus professional communications, journalism, writing, editing, and reporting experience.
