Google is hiring an XR System Performance Engineer to improve the performance, stability, responsiveness, and efficiency of microXR glasses operating systems and software stacks under tight latency, power, and thermal constraints. The role involves architecting and vetting systems designs, analyzing workloads from application APIs through low-level architecture, implementing performance optimizations, mentoring engineers, and reviewing code. Candidates need a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, extensive C++ or Java software development experience, software product testing and launch experience, performance and large-scale systems experience, and software design and architecture experience.
