Description
The Yard Cutter will cut scrap metal into specified sizes using a handheld torch in a designated yard area, inspect cutting equipment and gas and oxygen filters, identify scrap-metal types, follow safe cutting and torch-nursing procedures, and verify that cut vessels are drained and free of flammable liquids before hot work. The role is performed aboard a marine vessel or in a dismantling yard and requires extended standing, walking more than 1,000 yards, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
