Description
The part-time Lumber Yard Worker reports to the Yard Foreman and sorts, racks, and moves lumber and building materials by grade, size, and work orders. The role includes customer service, directing customers, loading and unloading delivery trucks, operating forklifts or industrial trucks, maintaining yard and rack cleanliness, completing forklift inspections, and following safety, loss prevention, and inventory procedures. The position requires a strong work ethic, basic instruction comprehension, communication, initiative, problem-solving, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment; forklift experience is preferred. It is physically demanding, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, climbing, and frequent lifting or moving of items up to 75 pounds.
