Description
The Counselor provides day-to-day group programming, behavior management, direct supervision, and safety for up to 25 children or participants under the Site Director. Responsibilities include planning age- and developmentally appropriate activities, maintaining staff-to-child ratios, documenting attendance and behavioral incidents, distributing nutritious meals, conducting health checks, communicating with parents, following emergency and risk-management procedures, and supporting enrollment and site quality goals. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years of experience with school-aged children preferred, recreational and educational activity skills, basic instruction ability, and completion of required YMCA, safety, risk-management, and childcare training and certifications.
