AWE is hiring a Data Scientist for a 12-month Year in Industry Placement focused on nuclear threat reduction. The role involves applying data science techniques to large, complex datasets supporting nuclear and radiological material detection, nuclear forensics, and international treaty monitoring and verification. It is based onsite in Aldermaston, near Reading, Berkshire, with a £24,500 annual salary, benefits, and a 9-day working fortnight. Candidates must be studying a relevant subject, have a minimum 2:2 degree classification or equivalent by August 2026, be British citizens, and obtain the necessary security clearance; the placement starts on 2 August 2027.
