Description
The Youth Mentor provides direct supervision, care, and therapeutic support to up to 16 high-risk male youth in a secure residential treatment program. Responsibilities include maintaining youth accountability, mediating problems, using de-escalation and crisis-management techniques, facilitating groups and treatment programming, supporting discharge planning, conducting security checks, and transporting youth in mechanical restraints. The role is scheduled Friday through Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with Wednesday and Thursday off, and requires an associate’s degree or higher, relevant experience, a valid Connecticut driver’s license, reliable transportation, and completion of mandatory training.
