Description

Launch Housing is seeking a Youth Mentor Volunteer to support a designated young person experiencing homelessness at its Glen Waverley Education First Youth Foyer. The role involves sharing the mentee’s education, career, and life experiences; building a consistent, non-judgmental relationship; encouraging self-reliance and decision-making; helping with goal-setting and skill development; documenting session outcomes; participating in program evaluation; and reporting safety concerns. The volunteer will commit to 9–12 months, follow Launch Housing policies and the Child Safe Code of Conduct, and hold a valid Working with Children Check and satisfactory criminal history record check. Previous experience with young people or children, lived experience in youth programs, and networks supporting mentoring relationships are desirable.
