Description
SCCMHA is hiring a Youth Peer Support Specialist to provide peer-delivered, recovery-oriented support to youth and young adults ages 14–22 with serious emotional disturbance or serious mental illness. The role focuses on building supportive relationships, promoting self-advocacy and coping skills, assisting with person-centered planning and community resources, participating in case conferences, documenting services, and advocating for the individuals served. The position reports to a Mental Health Supervisor, requires lived behavioral health experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Michigan driver’s license, and certification as a Certified Youth Peer Support Specialist within six months of hire.
