Description
The Administrative Assistant provides advanced administrative, clerical, and operational support to attorneys, management, and staff in the Harris County Public Defender’s Office. Responsibilities include coordinating administrative functions, maintaining confidential client and case records, managing correspondence, preparing and filing documents, answering and routing calls, responding to client inquiries, and supporting multiple attorneys. The role requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. and two years of progressively responsible administrative, clerical, or secretarial experience; legal, court, criminal justice, or government experience is preferred. It is a regular full-time office position Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., with salary dependent on qualifications and subject to a criminal history check and other employment standards.
