Description

VitalEdge is hiring an Associate Applied AI Engineer to join its Applied AI strike team and help translate business workflows into production-ready AI solutions. The role focuses on building agentic systems, RAG pipelines, MCP-based integrations, APIs, and enterprise application connections; testing, monitoring, documentation, and deployment; and creating reusable engineering assets. It is intended for a recent graduate in a relevant technical discipline and requires strong programming fundamentals, Python experience, and foundational AI application experience. The position is based in Boston, Massachusetts, or Cary, North Carolina.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree completed recently in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Required Previous Experiences: Practical Python experience demonstrated through internships, research, coursework, open-source contributions, a capstone, or personal projects.
Foundational experience building AI-enabled applications using agents, orchestration, RAG, MCP or tool integrations, context engineering, harness engineering, loop engineering, graph engineering, and evals.
Ability to learn unfamiliar business or technical domains, ask strong questions, and turn ambiguity into structured work.
Evidence of ownership, initiative, and follow-through in an academic, internship, research, or project setting.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience building AI, machine learning, data, automation, or software applications through internships, research, hackathons, academic work, or projects.
Experience with Git, SQL, REST APIs, cloud platforms, containers, or CI/CD workflows.
Familiarity with LangGraph, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, CrewAI, or comparable technologies.
Exposure to enterprise workflows, SaaS products, ERP systems, data migration, customer support, or software development operations.
A portfolio, GitHub repository, capstone, or other work product demonstrating hands-on technical ability and problem-solving.
