Description

MISUMI Americas is hiring a Lead Cloud DevOps Engineer in Oakland, California, to own and operate AWS infrastructure for its global digital manufacturing platform. The role combines hands-on CloudFormation and Node.js development with infrastructure architecture, CI/CD, monitoring, security, troubleshooting, optimization, and leadership of a small team. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, based in Oakland or the greater Bay Area, and able to work onsite as required.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: 10+ years in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or Systems Engineering
5+ years of hands-on production experience writing Node.js code
Expert-level hands-on AWS experience across EC2, Lambda, IAM, VPC, S3, CloudWatch, RDS, CodeBuild, and Elastic Beanstalk
Extensive real-world CloudFormation experience with complex templates, multi-environment stacks, updates, rollbacks, drift detection, and lifecycle management
Strong track record designing and operating CI/CD pipelines
Hands-on experience debugging systems and applications in production
Experience with database performance tuning and optimization
AWS security best practices involving IAM, networking, encryption, and least-privilege access
Strong Linux systems experience
Preferred Qualifications: Experience leading or mentoring engineers on infrastructure projects
Experience operating multi-region or globally distributed AWS environments
Familiarity with containerized workloads, including ECS and EKS
Cloud cost optimization or FinOps experience
Background in fast-growing or high-scale engineering organizations
