TalentBurst is hiring a Mechanical Technician II for a six-month contract supporting mechanical installation, construction, debugging, troubleshooting, startup, and conversion of production equipment and automated systems. The role is onsite in Wilmington, North Carolina, with possible travel to other optical fiber and cable manufacturing sites. Responsibilities include supervising maintenance and contract trades, developing project plans, ensuring safety, interpreting drawings and schematics, troubleshooting equipment, modifying mechanical components, coordinating with system integrators and machine builders, providing training, and expediting materials. The position requires a mechanical engineering technology or mechanical engineering degree, hands-on equipment experience, process-variable knowledge, and familiarity with mechanical drive trains, actuators, piping, and alignment tools.
