Description
New Hanover County is hiring a full-time Personal Property Appraiser (Zone 1) for its Tax Department Listing division. The role appraises and assesses personal property such as motor vehicles, boats, aircraft, mobile homes, and household assets; maintains taxpayer accounts; processes appeals, exemptions, refunds, and tax bills; conducts account research; and provides customer service. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, one year of personal property appraiser experience or equivalent training and experience, a valid driver's license, and NC Department of Revenue certification within the first two years. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with possible flex hours and emergency availability, and the salary range is $42,050 to $71,486.
