Description
The Phlebotomist screens and collects whole blood, automated red blood cells, double red blood cells, and plasma from allogeneic, autologous, directed, and therapeutic donors. The role includes donor eligibility screening, venipuncture, automated collection setup, post-phlebotomy care, donor reactions, quality control, documentation, equipment maintenance, donor recruitment, and participation in blood drives. It requires a high school diploma or GED, phlebotomy certification or two or more years of experience, a valid driver’s license, dependable transportation, customer service skills, and the ability to work varied hours including weekends.
