Microsoft’s Azure Security DevSec team is hiring a Principal Security Engineer to evaluate and improve security posture across cloud-hosted service ecosystems in Microsoft Azure. The role involves security reviews, risk assessment, secure-by-design guidance, remediation strategies, stakeholder collaboration, AI and automation for security assessments, and mentoring engineering teams. Candidates need a relevant master’s or bachelor’s degree plus 4–6 years of experience in software development, large-scale computing, threat modeling, cybersecurity, or anomaly detection, with equivalent experience also accepted. The role requires Microsoft and Microsoft Cloud background checks and offers a U.S. base pay range of USD 142,800–274,800 per year, with higher ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
