Description

Google is hiring a Security Engineer to lead Security and Software Engineers and drive vulnerability identification, remediation, and security improvements across Google Cloud Platform products and shared infrastructure. The role combines security engineering, threat modeling, software security, and AI/ML-driven automation to protect network boundaries, sensitive data, and cloud products, while collaborating with Cloud product teams and maintaining operational independence. The position requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, eight years of relevant security or coding experience, and five years of team-management experience.

Required Previous Experiences: 8 years of experience with security assessments, security design reviews, or threat modeling
8 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols
8 years of coding experience in one or more general-purpose languages
5 years of experience managing a team of engineers or security professionals
Preferred Qualifications: Experience building, deploying, and using AI/ML-driven security workflows for vulnerability identification, risk evaluation, and scaled remediation
Experience in software security in cloud environments, particularly vulnerability assessment, risk evaluation, and scalable remediation
Ability to manage phased program rollouts, transition operational ownership, and scale technical infrastructure with limited oversight
Ability to guide engineering roadmaps for attack-surface reduction and vulnerability management
Excellent communication skills and a proven track record of cross-organizational collaboration
