Description
The Planning Department is hiring a Planning Specialist to interpret and enforce zoning, subdivision, watershed, and wireless telecommunication ordinances; prepare ordinance amendments; attend meetings; conduct research; maintain records; and prepare reports under the supervision of the Planning Director. The role requires knowledge of urban and regional planning, land-use codes, research methodology, and statistical procedures, along with the ability to present research and work effectively with public and agency stakeholders. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field plus two years of work-related experience, or a master’s degree plus one year of work-related experience, and a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
