Description

KBR Wyle Services is hiring a Software Engineer 3 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to support geospatial data processing, storage, distribution, and large-scale application and infrastructure development for USGS Science projects. The role leads technical coordination, designs and optimizes databases and geospatial systems, integrates Apache Airflow and Python workflows, develops JavaScript and Node.js/React interfaces, and plans migrations to Kubernetes and cloud architectures. Telecommuting is permitted up to three days per week, with full-time Monday–Friday employment at 40 hours per week.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field
Required Previous Experiences: 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate related work experience
4 years of experience designing, developing, and deploying large-scale geospatial applications
4 years of experience building geospatial processing systems with image analysis
4 years of experience developing and optimizing Python data processing workflows
4 years of experience creating JavaScript, Node.js, and React interfaces and backend services
3 years of experience designing schemas, writing optimized queries, and supporting relational database workloads
3 years of experience managing deployments, automation scripting, and troubleshooting Unix and Linux environments
3 years of experience integrating software components and enabling secure communication through web services and APIs
2 years of experience in database administration, including tuning, query optimization, backup and recovery, and secure handling of large datasets
