Astera is hiring a full-time Software Engineer to build and scale The Stacks, a content platform for scientific, technical, and intellectual work. The role covers backend services, frontend interfaces, APIs, data models, integrations, cloud infrastructure, testing, CI/CD, performance optimization, and open-source contributions. Candidates should have a computer science or computer engineering degree or equivalent experience, 2–3+ years of software-systems experience, strong engineering fundamentals, and familiarity with modern web technologies. The position is on-site in Emeryville, California, with occasional travel.
