Variance is hiring a full-time software engineer in San Francisco to build and ship AI-powered interfaces for risk investigations, fraud, and identity reviews. The role works across backend systems, polished user interfaces, production, experimentation, and live demos, partnering directly with founders on high-stakes, fast-moving problems. Candidates should have 1–3 years of professional software engineering experience, strong product craftsmanship, and familiarity with React/Next.js, TypeScript, MySQL, and ClickHouse.
