Mixpanel is hiring a Software Engineer III (L3) for its Data Runtime team to design and build systems that execute customer queries at scale. The role focuses on distributed-systems projects such as elastic query compute, distributed file caching, columnar storage, and compaction, while collaborating with senior engineers and infrastructure and product teams. Candidates need a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, at least three years of professional software engineering experience, and expertise in distributed systems, data infrastructure, storage and query engines, caching, performance engineering, cloud infrastructure, and reliability. The team is distributed across North America, with strong clusters in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York.
