CME Group is hiring a Staff Agentic Software Engineer for a hybrid position in its Chicago office. The role leads the transition to agentic software engineering while architecting and developing high-volume, low-latency Java applications on Google Cloud Platform for mission-critical real-time positions and risk management systems. Responsibilities include building agent infrastructure, automated evaluation and testing harnesses, CI/CD guardrails, distributed systems, and mentoring engineers. The position requires a bachelor’s degree or higher and at least 8 years of experience building scalable real-time systems, with expertise in Java, Spring, GCP, Kafka, Flink, SQL, Postgres, Python, and production reliability practices.
