Description

CACI is hiring a Staff Embedded Software Engineer to lead the architecture, development, and delivery of embedded software for RF communications systems. The role focuses on low-level C/C++ software, embedded Linux, RTOS, FPGA and DSP integration, secure boot and cryptographic firmware updates, CI/CD, testing, reliability in radiation environments, and technical leadership. It is an on-site position in Colorado Springs with up to 10% local travel and a proposed salary range of $98,500-$206,800.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Required Previous Experiences: 8+ years of embedded software experience
Experience with RTOS and/or embedded Linux on ARM and SoC platforms
Experience with PCB design and schematic reviews
Experience debugging mixed hardware and software issues
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with 10+ years of embedded software experience
Exposure to satellite communications systems and CCSDS or space-communications standards
Practical RF laboratory skills
Knowledge of software-defined radio technologies
Experience with Rust, Python, and Protocol Buffers
Hands-on FPGA integration and Xilinx/AMD toolchain familiarity
Secure boot, TPM, and cryptographic techniques
Experience designing for reliability in radiation environments
