Mark43 is hiring an experienced Staff Engineer to help build cloud-based public safety software for first responders. The role focuses on server-side development at enterprise scale, working with Java, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, RESTful APIs, cloud infrastructure, and architecture improvements for a large and complex codebase. The engineer will own features end-to-end, collaborate closely with product and design, write documentation and tests, and contribute to engineering culture and the broader company. The position is remote-eligible in Canada, the UK, and select U.S. states, offers a $180,000 to $240,000 base salary plus bonus, stock options, and full benefits, and does not provide visa sponsorship.
