PlanIT Group is seeking a Systems Engineer III (LAN/WAN T-3) to augment a federal customer team in Raleigh, North Carolina. The role provides wired and wireless network design, implementation, operation, management, troubleshooting, security, automation, and Tier 3 escalation support, including complex LAN/WAN infrastructure, routing protocols, Cisco and other vendor equipment, wireless systems, and network performance optimization. The position is onsite hybrid, began on 2025-06-16, and has a one-year duration.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: A degree from an accredited college or university in an applicable field of services; if the degree is not in the applicable field, four additional years of related experience are required.
Required Previous Experiences: At least 5 years of LAN engineering experience
8–10 years of relevant experience
Extensive LAN design, implementation, and management experience with large complex facilities
Experience with IP Address Management Systems and voice VLAN sizing
Experience performing switch acceptance for new field sites
Experience reviewing Cisco network sites for circuit capacity, switch types, and IOS
Experience using measurements or design documents to assess infrastructure reliability and performance
Experience installing, configuring, operating, and supporting Cisco and other vendor network equipment
Experience with Cisco Meraki, HPE Aruba, Juniper Mist, and Fortinet wireless solutions
