NC State University is hiring a temporary Research Assistant in Raleigh, North Carolina to evaluate gene drive systems for suppressing the New World screwworm. The role involves designing, planning, conducting, and interpreting genetic experiments, collaborating with the research team, maintaining laboratory notebooks, following laboratory protocols, and meeting biosafety and containment requirements. The position requires relevant master’s or bachelor’s education and three or more years of relevant experience, the ability to work with insects, molecular biology and genetic analysis experience, and a valid driver’s license. The anticipated hiring range is $25 per hour.
