Anthropic Expands Workforce Globally
Anthropic will triple its international workforce and expand its applied AI team fivefold as Claude usage surges outside the U.S.

Anthropic Bets Big Abroad
AI startup Anthropic is going global in a hurry. The company announced plans to triple its international workforce this year while expanding its applied AI team by fivefold, fueled by booming demand for its Claude models outside the United States.
The numbers say it all: nearly 80% of consumer usage for Claude comes from outside the U.S., with per-person usage in South Korea, Australia, and Singapore outpacing American adoption. For a company once considered a niche competitor to OpenAI, this is a full-on global takeover.
Claude Goes Worldwide
Anthropic's rise has been meteoric. In just two years, its customer base has rocketed from fewer than 1,000 businesses to more than 300,000 worldwide. Backed by tech giants like Google's Alphabet and Amazon, the company is now valued at $183 billion.
Revenue growth is keeping pace with hype. Anthropic's run-rate revenue hit $5 billion in August 2025, up from about $1 billion at the start of the year. That kind of growth has given the company both the confidence—and the cash—to plant its flag overseas.
This year alone, Anthropic plans to add 100+ jobs across Dublin, London, and Zurich, while opening its first Asian office in Tokyo. The international push is being spearheaded by Chris Ciauri, the new managing director of International, who joined shortly after Paul Smith stepped in as chief commercial officer.
"The global demand for Claude is extraordinary—from financial services in London to manufacturing in Tokyo, enterprises are trusting Claude to power their mission-critical operations," Ciauri said.
A New AI Power Play
The timing couldn't be better. Earlier this week, Microsoft struck a deal with Anthropic to integrate Claude into its Copilot assistant, marking a notable pivot away from its reliance on OpenAI's models.
For workers, this expansion translates into new AI jobs across Europe and Asia—roles ranging from applied research to enterprise implementation. For companies, it signals a competitive AI landscape where clients have more than one frontier model to bet on.
Anthropic's aggressive international hiring drive highlights a key reality: the next chapter of AI growth isn't going to be written in Silicon Valley alone. With Claude gaining traction in global boardrooms, the AI talent race is officially worldwide.
