Do I need a photo on my résumé?

No. Most employers don't ask for a photo, and a photo doesn't make a résumé stronger. What matters is your experience, skills and how to reach you.

  • The Metaintro résumé builder has no photo field, so résumés you build and download from it don't include a photo.

  • If you upload a file that already has a photo, it stays as you uploaded it. If you would rather not share the photo, remove it from the file and upload it again.

  • Your account picture (in Settings > General) is not added to your résumé.

Who can see my résumé and profile?

  • You. Your résumés appear in the sidebar and in Settings > Resumes.

  • Employers, only when you apply. Metaintro does not publish your profile or résumé. An employer sees your résumé only when you send it with an application.

  • A program you joined. If a job program or organization invited you to Metaintro, its staff can see how your search is going. Your case manager can tell you exactly what they see.

  • A share link you create. In the résumé builder you can create a private share link. Only people who have the link can open it, and you can turn it off at any time.

Metaintro never sells your data. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.

What should I leave off my résumé?

You don't need to include your ID number, exact home address, date of birth, marital status or health information. A phone number, an email address and your city are enough.
