Description
The Center for AI Safety (CAIS) is hiring an in-office People Operations Manager in San Francisco to build and lead the organization’s People & Culture infrastructure as an individual contributor. The role owns the full people-operations lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, offboarding, HRIS, payroll, benefits, compliance, policies, performance and development, compensation, employee relations, culture, and workflow automation, while partnering with Finance, IT, and Operations. Candidates should have experience designing and scaling people-operations systems from scratch at a startup, nonprofit, or other fast-growing organization, strong HR fundamentals and written communication, high autonomy, prioritization judgment, and interest in AI safety.
