Lila Sciences is hiring a Principal Software Engineer with backend experience for its Data Platform Team. The role focuses on designing and building secure, high-performance APIs; developing scalable database architectures; optimizing system performance and reliability; and deploying production systems using AWS, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps practices. The engineer will collaborate with machine learning researchers, software engineers, and scientists to integrate data pipelines, APIs, and cloud infrastructure into scientific workflows. The position requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field, 8–15 years of large-scale production systems experience, full-stack development experience, and familiarity with Python for science. The expected base salary range is $204,000–$348,000 USD, with bonus potential and equity.
