Description
Salesforce is hiring a Principal Engineer to help build and operate Systems Integration Agent, an AI agent that learns to operate enterprise applications and turn complex workflows into reusable, code-backed automation. The role combines hands-on development of agent execution, backend services, workflow state management, recovery and verification capabilities, evaluations, diagnostics, and customer-facing prototypes with architectural leadership across agent and backend systems. The engineer will also mentor other engineers, participate in hiring, and help shape technical direction. The position requires experience with complex backend systems, LLM-powered systems, concurrency, persistent state, retries, and partial failures, along with proficiency in Python, Go, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript. The typical base salary range is $172,500-$313,700 annually, with a higher range of $207,800-$344,700 annually in select San Francisco and New York City metropolitan areas.
