Description
General Motors is hiring a Software Engineering Leader to modernize and scale embedded software build systems by migrating from legacy Make- or shell-based workflows to Bazel. The role leads technical strategy, reusable Bazel infrastructure, CI/CD integration, reproducibility, developer productivity, and the retirement of legacy workflows. It requires a bachelor’s degree in software engineering or equivalent experience, 10+ years of software development experience, expertise in real-time software architecture and safety-critical automotive or embedded systems, and proficiency in Python plus another engineering-tooling language. The position is primarily remote, with possible three-times-per-week reporting to a GM hub for eligible candidates, and offers a base salary of $171,150–$288,500 plus bonus potential and health, dental, vision, and other benefits.
